Administrative Team

David Ernst, MD, FAAEM, FACEP

President and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Ernst practiced Emergency Medicine for over 15 years as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine for University of Toledo College of Medicine and Ohio University College of Medicine at a large teaching facility in Northern Ohio. He also served as a Flight Physician for Cleveland Metro Hospital Life Flight program. Dr. Ernst received his Undergraduate Degree from the University of Cincinnati, Medical Degree from University of Toledo College of Medicine, and Residency from Akron City Hospital/Summa Health System.

Dr. Ernst joined EPOWERdoc in 2004 as the Chief Medical Officer responsible for new product management for the Paper Template Documentation System and development of the EMRDoc Emergency Department Information System software and several other software applications. Submission of several Patents on software design and the creation of many strategic partnerships in the Emergency Medicine software market were also part of Dr. Ernst’s responsibilities. In 2007 Dr. Ernst was promoted to President and submitted on behalf of EPOWERdoc the only US Patent on an EDIS design in the United States that was awarded in July of 2018. 

Dr. Ernst created the principle design for the new EPOWERdoc VitalTelemed Telemedicine EHR platform and continues his development and administrative roles with the same passion that all the EPOWERdoc employees share toward Excellence.

 

Edsel Pertile

Chief Information Officer

Edsel has been in Information and Technology since 1977. Edsel has served in various capacities in administration and as an IT executive, but finds his true passion in architecture and the design of complex leading edge systems. He has designed systems for the Banking, Retail and Health Care markets. Since 1992 he has been involved in the medical billing and Electronic Medical Records fields. He has joined EPOWERdoc in 2005 with the primary responsibility of designing, developing and implementing EMRDoc system, ensuring it would attend current needs as well as future projections of the Health Care Industry.

Edsel is originally from Brazil and holds degrees in Business Administration (FAAP - Brazil) and Robotics Engineering (USP – Brazil).

 

Whitney Belloit, RN, MBA

Vice President, Operations

Whitney joined EPOWERdoc in 2005 and has been vital in the development of the EMRDoc program. Whitney began her EPOWERdoc career as a Client Services Director, overseeing customization and customer service with our paper template clients and development of EMRDoc. She was promoted to Vice President in 2011 and is responsible for client service and all EMRDoc implementations. Whitney currently oversees the client services, development and support divisions.

Whitney has over 20 years of clinical experience as an Emergency Department nurse having served as a charge nurse and supervisor at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to joining EPOWERdoc, Whitney held similar roles in the documentation industry and as an Emergency Department consultant. Whitney earned her Bachelors of Science degree from Auburn University and earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from North Florida University.
